MIX AND MATCH SOME ACTION WORDS (VERBS)

If you want to say:

I WANT TO SPEAK GERMAN

It goes like this:

Ich will deutsch sprechen - [ich vill DOY-tch SHPRAY-chen]

You can alter what you do to "SPEAK" by using different words like

I MUST SPEAK - Ich muss sprechen - [Ich moos SHPRAY-chen]

I CAN SPEAK - Ich kann sprechen - [Ich can SHPRAY-chen]

I WANT TO SPEAK - Ich will sprechen - [Ich vill SHPRAY-chen]

I LIKE TO SPEAK - Ich mag sprechen - [Ich mag SHPRAY-chen]

You can use other action words like:

TO GO - GEHEN - GAY-EN

TO COME - KOMMEN - COMMON

TO BE - SEIN - ZINE

TO HAVE - HABEN - HAR-BEN

TO SEE - SEHEN - ZAY-EN

TO SPEAK - SPRECHEN - SHPRAY-chen

TO ASK (questions) - FRAGEN - FRAR-GEN

TO GIVE - GEBEN - GAY-BEN

TO TAKE - NEHMEN - NAME-EN

TO TRAVEL/DRIVE - FAHREN - FAR-EN

TO BUY - KAUFEN - COW-FEN

TO DO/MAKE - MACHEN - MACH-EN

Then, see how you can mix and match them to say what you want.

I MUST GO - Ich muss gehen - [Ich moos GAY-en]

I CAN COME - Ich kann kommen - [Ich can common]

I WANT TO DO - Ich will machen - [Ich vill mar-chen]

I LIKE TO TRAVEL - Ich mag fahren - [Ich mag FAR-en]

Please don't forget the prounciation of CH. If you don't speak Scotts, "CH" in German also sounds a little like saying an English "H" and clearing your throat at the same time. Have fun!

Again, we would like to thank Fluency-Today and Michael Bristow, for their help in rereating ths page !
